An extension piece intended to provide easier access to dorsal connection point

The Shock Absorbing Extension Lanyard connects to the harness dorsal D-ring, in effect extending it by 18". This makes it easier for workers to reach behind them and make a connection--ideal for those who connect/disconnect multiple times throughout their day. It can also be used in combination with a non-shock lanyard to allow for use in Fall Arrest applications. Always be sure to account for the additional length of the extension when calculating free fall and fall clearance.

Yes, however if a second connecting device is connected to the dorsal D-ring only one device can be used at a time. This means that, for example, an SRL is attached to the dorsal D-ring, the Shock Absorbing Extension Lanyard must not be actively in use.
